Apparently There Is A 'Perfect' Breast Shape. Gee, Thanks Science

It turns out that we’re not necessarily attracted to the prospect fake boobs, and they’re more likely inclined to favour a more natural, unaltered shape.

That’s according to a study by British researchers which surveyed 1,315 people and asked them to look at different breasts and pick the proportions which they deemed to be most appealing.

And while results were analysed according to age, sex and nationality, the winning size was the ’45:55’ ratio – with 45 per cent of breast tissue falling above the nipple line, and 55 below it.

This size is considered to be a ‘natural shape’ similar to the ancient Venus de Milo statue, and is a world away from large, cosmetically enhanced breasts.

But far from providing yet another set of baffling statistics, the study actually had a rather admirable motive.

It aimed to help plastic surgeons develop a consistent template for reconstructive surgery for breast cancer patients.

The ’45:55’ proportion is now set to be used as a basis for the development of such a size.
