Scots have been warned to prepare for snow and thunder this weeks, according to the Met Office.

The weather is set to be varied for the foreseeable future with the wind already picking up this evening in areas such as Glasgow.

According to the Met Office, they have forecasted sunny spells and showers across much of the UK, however in Scotland it's not quite as sunny.

They tweeted: "Sunshine and showers across much of the UK, but feeling fresh. Blustery and heavy towards the north with a risk of snow across some Scottish mountains."

In Aberdeen and the surrounding area the mercury could dip to below freezing with frost expected. While in other parts there could be "rumbles of thunder".
