Scotland's pub with 'best quality pints' crowned at national bar awards - see full list
A Scottish pub has won a "beer quality" award for serving up the best pints in the country.
Last week, Scottish Licensed Trade News unveiled the winners of the annual Scottish Licensed Trade Awards. The yearly ceremony celebrates the top food and drink businesses in the country across a range of categories.
The winner of the Beer Quality Award was The Stag in Angus. The prize, which was presented in association with Tennent's Lager, was awarded to the pub for serving up pints of "the highest quality standard".

The Stag is a restaurant, bar, and café situated in the heart of the bustling market town of Forfar. Originally a hotel, it has been serving its local community for more than 100 years.
The Angus boozer triumphed over bars and pubs across the country to take home the Beer Quality Award. The two runners up for the prize were The Craftsman Company in Aberdeen and Winstons in Corstorphine.
According to Scottish Licensed Trade News, judges were looking "excellent cellar management" and "excellence in dispense with good staff knowledge of pouring and presentation techniques for a range of beers". The Stag was chosen for "delivering the perfectly poured pint every time".
Meanwhile, other awards handed out at the Scottish Licensed Trade Awards 2024 included Cocktail Bar of the Year and Whisky Bar of the Year. The former was given to The Absent Ear in Glasgow, while Tipsy Midgie in Edinburgh won the Whisky Bar of the Year gong.
Elsewhere, Gastropub of the Year was awarded to The Boar’s Head in Auchtermuchty. There was also an award for Late Night Venue of the Year, which was given to The Howlin' Wolf in Glasgow.
The Scottish Licensed Trade Awards took place at the Hilton Glasgow on November 7. The event was hosted by Scottish television star Martin Compston, while James Corden also made a guest appearance.
