Scots presenter Jean Johansson makes 'life-changing' health admission
Jean Johansson has opened up about being diagnosed with presbyopia, a condition that diminishes the ability to focus on close objects.
The A Place In The Sun presenter, 42, had brushed aside her failing eyesight, before the realisation hit following an eye exam. Reflecting on the impact of wearing glasses, the Scottish TV host declared: "I can honestly say it's been life-changing."
She revealed her refusal in accepting the need for glasses stemmed from not wanting to acknowledge getting older. However, Jean is now fully adjusted to her specs, having seen the benefits it has when reading scripts at work or scrolling on her phone.

In her Sunday Mail piece, reported by the Mirror, she humorously shared: "I'm [also] no longer stealing my mum's glasses to read a menu in a restaurant."
After recognising the reason behind her vision issues, Jean urges anyone facing similar challenges to seek an eye test. The Mayo Clinic details that presbyopia typically begins between the early to mid-40s and progresses until about 65, as an expected aspect of ageing.
Individuals with the condition may notice their vision becoming blurry when attempting to read without fully extending their arms.

They may also experience headaches or eye strain after engaging in activities that require close focus. These symptoms typically worsen if fatigued or in poorly lit environments.
Elsewhere, the Scottish TV host recently confessed that she has been pitched for Strictly Come Dancing "every year" by her agent.
Speaking to Love Sunday Magazine, Jean expressed her keen interest in participating, naming professional dancer Johannes Radebe, 37, as her ideal dance partner for the hit BBC show.
Jean has her eyes set on this year's series especially because her Scots pal Dr Punam Krishan will be stepping out onto the dance floor.
Speaking to the magazine about Punam's upcoming stint, Jean said: "She's [Krishnan] so smart. I think it'll be well out of her comfort zone but all us Scots will be behind her. I can't wait to see her Beyoncé moves on the dance floor!"
