Scott Mills to stay in place as Radio 2 Breakfast Show host
Scott Mills is to stay in place as the host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show for another week, it has been announced. The star has been hosting the show since August 12 amid the ongoing absence of DJ Zoe Ball.
Zoe has not been on air since the start of August, when she returned for three days before leaving once again. The BBC has not explained where she is, but said she will return later this month.
The schedules show that Scott Mills will host the show again this week, with his afternoon slot being taken over by OJ Borg and DJ Spoony. Gaby Roslin originally stepped in to cover the early-morning show when Zoe initially took time off.
Scott said: "If you set your alarm every morning to go off at 6:30am and normally Zoe comes on, please do not freak out. You have not overslept."
Zoe had been off for a holiday in Ibiza before returning to the air for three days at the start of August. She has also not posted on social media since August 5.
The BBC has not explained her absence but issued a statement saying she would be back before the end of September. In March, Zoe took time off to care for her mother who had pancreatic cancer. Zoe returned on May 13 after the death of her mother in April.
