Scottish fan livid after gig rearranged for England's Euro 2024 final

Fuming fans have hit out at John Bishop after the comic announced a late change to his Wolverhampton show this weekend. The Liverpool comedian announced he would not be doing his show at The Halls on Sunday evening as planned after England reached the final of Euro 2024.

Bishop took to X/Twitter to explain he would not be missing England's historic match with Spain and instead would be moving his gig to earlier in the day. But fans were left stunned, with some labelling him "unprofessional" and calling the decision "outrageous".

One Scottish fan was particularly irked and said he would now have "f*** all to do and a hotel for no reason". He posted in response to Bishop: "Train gets in at 5. FANTASTIC! A Scotsman now with f*** all to do and a hotel for no reason."

A fan of the comic posted: "Over £100 wasted on three tickets as we can't attend earlier in the day, absolute pelter of a poor decision. Good honest working folk don't have money to throw away."

Another commented: "That is such unprofessional behaviour to be honest. So a football match makes you inconvenience people who like you but maybe don’t like football?". One X user simply wrote: "Total disrespect for your fans."

Another chimed in: "How unprofessional! That’s ridiculous!" One added: "Outrageously unprofessional thing to do." Someone else said: "What a disgrace. It's a game of football. People spent their hard earned money to watch him and he does this."

Bishop did get some support for his decision, however. One commented: "Right decision. It’s a great show and I’m sure lots of people would like the opportunity to see John and then watch the final in the evening.

"Better than playing to a half empty venue or where the audience are trying to watch the game on their phones." The popular Scouse comedian posted a message after England beat the Netherlands in a dramatic semi-final on Wednesday night.

He said: "To all the people coming to Wolverhampton on Sunday I'm not doing the show at 8pm. The show's gonna get moved to the afternoon. You're all gonna get an email in the morning telling you the time.

"I know it won't suit everybody, so anyone who can't make it we'll give you a refund. But we're definitely gonna move the time to Sunday afternoon cause there's no chance I'm gonna be doing it at 8pm cause I'm gonna be busy watching these boys."
