Scottish rugby legends are on their way to Dumfries and Galloway.

Former Scotland captain Rob Wainwright is set to lead a team of around 300 cyclists across the region this week as part of Doddie’s Grand Tour 2025, with Stewartry, Annan, Langholm and Moffat rugby clubs set to greet them.

The epic ride will start in Dublin and finish at Murrayfield ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations clash with Ireland on Sunday.

It is hoped participants will raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for My Name Doddie’5 Foundation - the charity the late Scotland rugby star Doddie Weir set up after being diagnosed with MND.
