Scotty T is under fire over a controversial tweet about the Manchester terror attack.

Last night (May 22), as news broke of an explosion at the Ariana Grande concert, which has killed 22 people including children and injured 59, a message appeared on the Geordie Shore star's personal account.

It read: "Thoughts going out to all the victims and their families in Manchester right now and you @ArianaGrande!! #fancyacuddle."

His loyal army of followers instantly then turned on him, calling Scotty "sick" and "disgusting" for making light of the tragedy.

One wrote: "@ScottGShore @jasoncundy05 Hang your head in shame you fame grabbing b**tard. Poor excuse for a human being @ScottGShore."

Another then posted: "@ScottGShore delete the tweet all you want but everyone's seen it! You disgusting pig! You are over just like your career!! BYEEEE."

Moments later, a different fan tweeted: "F**king disgusting man, people have been killed and @ScottGShore tweets this."

Following the backlash, Scotty took to Twitter again and denied all responsibility for the offensive message, claiming his account had been hacked.

He wrote: "Hi apologies to anyone offended last night My Twitter was hacked. Anyone who follows me knows I would not tweet anything so disgusting."

Scotty added: "There were 17 apps logged In to the account. All of these had to be removed."

In further tweets, he continued: "Just gained access now after resetting account [...] As soon as my team found out they where on to Twitter to regain access & delete."

However, a lot of fans aren't convinced that Scotty is telling the truth about the alleged hacking.

"@ScottGShore People would have more respect for you if you just grew a pair and apologised for being a massive prick...," one fan commented.

A second added: "@ScottGShore To say what you did was in bad taste but to then try and pass the blame to a hacker is even worse. You are a sick and twisted individual."

Digital Spy contacted Scotty T for further comment, and the reality star told us via his spokesperson: "Sincere apologies to anyone who was offended by a tweet sent from my account last night. My Twitter account was hacked.

"Manchester is a city I know and love. I send love and support to all those involved in this horrible, cowardly attack and join the UK and the rest of the world in sadness and solidarity."
