Scream 7 lands 2026 release date
Scream 7 is set to hit cinemas on February 27, 2026.
The news was announced on Instagram by star Neve Campbell and director Kevin Williamson who shared an image of a knife going through a calendar with the caption "It’s gonna be a killer 2026".
Scream 7 sees Campbell return as Sidney Prescott after previously exiting the franchise ahead of Scream VI over a pay dispute.

Campbell announced the news of her return as Sidney back in March, telling fans on Instagram: "I'm so excited to announce this news!!! Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!! It's always been such a blast and an honor to get to play Sidney in the Scream movies. My appreciation for these films and for what they have meant to me, has never waned."
Her return came after a series of high-profile exits from the film including stars Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, as well as original director Christopher Landon.
Barrera left the project last year, reportedly over comments she made on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Ortega, who left over scheduling issues, recently addressed Barrera's exit while speaking to Vanity Fair about Hollywood's attitude to the conflict.

"Everybody wants to be politically correct, but I feel like, in doing that, we lose a lot of our humanity and integrity, because it lacks honesty," she said.
"I wish that we had a better sense of conversation. Imagine if everyone could say what they felt and not be judged for it and, if anything, it sparked some sort of debate, not an argument."
The Scream movies are now streaming on Paramount+. Scream 7 will be released in cinemas on February 27, 2026.
