Neve Campbell has been cast in Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer, an upcoming legal drama based on Michael Connelly's sequel novel The Brass Verdict.
The actor, who famously plays Sidney Prescott in slasher horror series Scream and is set to reprise the role in its long-awaited new instalment next year, has signed on to portray Maggie McPherson, a fierce Deputy District Attorney, in the new project.
According to Variety, the character is the first ex-wife of Mickey Haller, who runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln Town Car, and shares tween-age daughter Hayley with him. Mickey will be brought to life by The Magnificent Seven's Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
Campbell, who previously starred in the streaming service's House of Cards, and Garcia-Rulfo are set to share the screen with supporting actors Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson (via Deadline).
The former has been brought on board as Mickey's second ex-wife Lorna, who works as his office manager and always lends him a shoulder to cry on, while the latter will play Cisco, a former biker gang member who's now employed as Mickey's investigator-turned-bodyguard.
Raycole will portray Izzy, a young former addict who Mickey is hired to defend after she's charged with grand larceny.
Adapted by Big Little Lies' David E Kelley and The Good Wife's Ted Humphrey, the series will consist of 10 one-hour episodes.
