Two shops in Scunthorpe have been targeted in attempted ram-raids and sustained heavy damage including broken windows.

Humberside Police said two cars, which are believed to have been stolen from Glover Road, were deliberately driven into the shops - Co-op in Willoughby Road and JD Sports in High Street. It was not reported that anything had been taken and the suspects fled the scenes before police arrived.

Earlier today, people witnessed the stolen cars still in the shop fronts. Police taped off both stores and have begun to review CCTV from the area.
