A house in Scunthorpe was left with "significant damage" after a "stolen" van crashed into it before the driver fled the scene.

Police said it happened at 1.15am on Sunday when a Ford Transit van travelling northbound on Bridges Road collided with the wall of a property, before the driver fled the scene towards Burringham Road.

The crash caused significant damage to both the property and the vehicle, which is thought to have been stolen. Nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
