Sean Dyche responds to Kieran Trippier transfer claims as Newcastle United face big decision
Everton manager Sean Dyche gave a coy response when asked about transfer links with Newcastle United's Kieran Trippier.
The England full-back has reportedly indicated that he would be interested in exploring other options should he not be first choice for United this season. Tino Livramento started Newcastle's first game of the season against Southampton, although Eddie Howe explained Trippier was always unlikely to be involved, having only recently returned from a delayed summer break following England EURO24 duty.
Howe is thought to be keen to keep Trippier on Tyneside, but the player himself turns 34 next month and knows how important regular first-team football is at this stage of his career. He had been linked with moves to West Ham and the Saudi Arabian league, with United turning down a bid from Bayern Munich in January.

Interest from Everton has now emerged, with Toffees boss Dyche having worked with a young Trippier at Burnley. The Merseyside club are currently struggling at right-back, with Seamus Coleman injured but Dyche wouldn't be drawn on specific links when asked about Trippier in his pre-match media briefing today.
"He's one of many names that have come up here," he told reporters. "As if by magic when we haven't got a right-back!' (Jarrad) Branthwaite is still a bit away at the moment. Seamus is a bit closer, (James) Garner is a bit closer just coming back in training with the group. Tarky (James Tarkowski) has got a maybe situation - so we're going to have to look at that."
United boss Howe will hold his pre-match Press conference ahead of Sunday's game at Bournemouth tomorrow morning, and we'll bring you live updates as the Newcastle chief talks transfers and injuries.
