Seaplane Sinks in Water After Crashing in Lake Washington, Seattle

A seaplane lay partially submerged in Lake Washington after crashing near the Seattle shoreline on July 1.

There were two occupants on the plane, according to the Seattle Fire Department, both of whom escaped the crash uninjured thanks to assistance from nearby boats.

One of the plane’s occupants was seen standing on top of the wreckage, which was floating about 200 meters offshore, authorities said. Fuel from the aircraft was visible in the water, authorities said.
