Search Efforts Resume at Site of Surfside Building Collapse After Temporary Halt

Search and rescue efforts at the site of the Surfside building collapse resumed on July 1, after operations were temporarily stopped at Champlain Towers South while engineers evaluated the safety of the site, officials said.

This footage, released by the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, shows firefighters searching through rubble, and contains footage of a memorial wall.

The Miami Herald reported that recovery efforts were paused for 15 hours and resumed just as President Joe Biden concluded a visit to South Florida. Biden and First Lady Jill Biden met with first responders Thursday.
