Body Found In Search For Teenager Missing In River Thames

The body of a 15-year-old boy has been found after a search was launched in the River Thames, police said.

The teenager was seen in the water near Sunbury Lock in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, just after 2.20pm on Wednesday.

A police helicopter was scrambled to aid the search operation, alongside a team of divers from Specialist Group International.

Surrey Police said a body was recovered from the water at 4.40pm.

The boy has not yet been named, but his next of kin have been informed.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: "Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident, but it is not believed to be suspicious or that there is any third party involvement."
