Seawall Collapses as Storm Brendan Brings Strong Waves to Northern Ireland

Storm Brendan brought heavy rain and strong winds to Northern Ireland on Monday, January 13, with large waves leading to the collapse of a section of the seawall at Carrickfergus in County Antrim.

The Met Office issued a yellow wind warning across Northern Ireland, warning that travel disruption was likely. Authorities reported widespread power outages, saying that they were “working to restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible.”
