Seaworld’s Profits Drop By 84% Thanks To Harry Styles (Okay, And Blackfish...)

In today’s news that will make Harry Styles proud, it has been reported that Seaworld have seen an absolutely humongous, ridiculous, and cray-cray 84% drop in their profits.

We mean, THAT’S SO CLOSE TO 100% HOW? HOW? HOW?

Well, the answer is pretty simple: Harry Styles.

Okay, maybe the jaw-dropping documentary ‘Blackfish back in 2013 is the actual main contributor to the stats, but One Direction definitely paid a teeny, tiny part.

Let’s start with the docu shall we?

Blackfish basically brought to light the cruel treatment of the orca whales when they are being captured by Seaworld, and once they are within their new enclosure.

The controversial practices are tied in with a conspiracy that the whales killed three people inside the park, with their violent behaviour being a direct result of the unspeakable conditions of the centre.

Immediately after release, Blackfish became a bit of a phenomena and with the cruelty exposed, Seaworld’s CEO, Joel Manby, has decided to use the term: “Brand challenges” when it came to explaining the massive drop in dolla.

He said in a statement: “We realize we have much work ahead of us to recover more of our attendance base, increase revenue and improve our performance as returning to historical performance levels will take time and investment.

“On the reputation side, early feedback on our campaign has been positive, however, we recognize that fully resolving our brand challenges in California will require sustained focus and commitment to correct misinformation.”

Well, you might want to have a chat with 21-year-old Harry then, Joel, as the bighearted, curly-haired star was left less than impressed by Seaworld’s treatment of animals and made that known to his millions of fans not so long ago.

During the band’s OTRA tour in San Diego, Hazza was caught on film asking the fans: “Do you like dolphins?”

When they responded with cheers, he told them: “Don’t go to Seaworld then”.

The clip was obviously used by animal rights campaigners almost immediately, with PETA picking it up to use for their campaigns.

All we have to say to this is: JUSTICE TO THE ORCA WHALES.

Hopefully the shocking stats will be enough to convince bosses to re-evaluate their treatment of the animals, eh?
