Yahoo News Secret Spa launches at-home Covid-19 swab and antibody tests
At-home beauty services have boomed in recent months, with many of us looking for an alternative to travelling out to a salon. But as our lives continue to change, so too have our beauty and wellness demands, with traditional grooming services being replaced by health-oriented treatments.
Quick to react, on-demand beauty booking platform Secret Spa is expanding into healthcare with a new menu of doctor-administered treatments spanning personal wellness and medical health. The brand has partnered with Chelsea-based clinic Effect Doctors to provide these with confidence.
The most noteworthy is the launch of at-home Covid-19 antibody and swab tests, which are sure to prove popular in the coming months.
The Covid-19 Antibody Test, priced from £150, involves a medical professional taking a small sample of blood to be analysed in a London-based laboratory. The test is Public Health England-approved, and your results will be delivered within 48 hours. However, it’s important to note that there is still debate as to whether the presence of antibodies means you are immune to the disease.
The Covid-19 Swab Test, priced from £249, is quick and accurate nose and throat swab to detect the presence of active Covid-19 infection. Results are analysed in an accredited medical laboratory and delivered within 48 hours, and there is an option to include a Negative PCR Swab Doctors Certificate.
The medical menu also includes a range of wellness treatments, including IV Drips to eliminate headaches, maximise energy or boost immunity, and Well Woman and Man check-ups and blood tests.
