BBC One's The Secrets She Keeps has drawn to a dramatic conclusion, and fans are desperate to know whether the gripping drama will return for more episodes.

The Australian psychological thriller adapted from Michael Rowbothom’s 2017 novel has enraptured viewers as of late, with its suspenseful storylines and unexpected plot twists.

Starring Downtown Abbey's Laura Carmichael and actress Jessica De Gouw, the show centres on two pregnant women whose worlds collide.

But will there be a second series? Or will viewers be left on a cliffhanger? Here’s everything we know so far...

What’s The Secrets She Keeps about?

The show stars Laura Carmichael as Agatha Fyfle; a pregnant supermarket worker, and Jessica De Gouw as Meghan O'Shaughnessy; a seemingly perfect housewife who is also expecting.

However, at the end of the first episode it is revealed that Agatha is faking her pregnancy. After meeting in the supermarket and following Meghan’s online life, Agatha hatches a plan to steal the baby.

When the child becomes ill, Agatha refuses to take him to the hospital, and instead runs away. The end of the series sees a confrontation between the two women, along with the unravelling of more secrets.

Will there be a The Secrets She Keeps season 2?

We have reached out to the BBC, but sadly there’s no confirmation of a second series just yet.

However, the show ended in a way that would lend itself to more episodes, so fans are hopeful there'll be a follow-up.
