Tunisian security forces killed multiple gunmen following a raid on a purported safe house in Sidi Bouzid’s eastern Ouled Chalbi neighborhood on April 30. At least two were killed and four others were arrested, according to Tunisian media reports.
The gunmen had been holed up in a residential complex before security forces launched the operation following intelligence reports that an Islamic State cell had entered the country illegally through Libya. One militant on the second floor of a building detonated his suicide vest, while security officials shot and killed another attempting to flee the building. Several local policemen were wounded during the incident. Credit: Facebook/News Siliana 24 via Storyful
