'Curviest model ever' Hunter McGrady, Candice Huffine and more body-positive moments at NYFW— so far

At New York Fashion Week, the body-positivity movement continues to evolve. With theCURVYcon wrapping up its second year at NYFW, plus-size women are seeing themselves represented in fashion by designers and retailers in ways unseen before.

Designers like Christian Siriano, Becca McCharen-Tran of Chromat, and Prabal Gurung continue to push the envelope for inclusivity and promoting body positivity. This push forward was solidified by a historic partnership announced between the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and plus-size retail hub, Dia & Co. The two partnered with five designers, including Siriano, for the #TeeUpChange campaign featuring five body-positive T-shirts whose proceeds will go toward size-inclusive fashion education for the next group of emerging designers.

Plus-size models like Candice Huffine, Hunter McGrady, Paloma Elesser, Marquita Pring, and more have strutted the catwalk during NYFW and at theCURVYcon this season, continuing to shatter old stereotypes of what a fashion model should look like in 2018.
