See quiz contestants fail miserably at simple question

From Digital Spy

If you love feeling smug while watching game shows as much as we do, then you're in luck, because today's episode of BBC Two's Letterbox totally delivered. Pun intended.

The special moment happened when host Mel Giedroyc asked contestants Lyndsey and Troy to guess the name of a fictional character letter by letter. (Think Wheel of Fortune meets Hangman.)

Sadly for Lyndsey and Troy, everyone guessed the answer before they did. A long time before. Have a watch of their hilarious struggle, soundtracked by audience groans and visible exasperation from Mel, below:

Hey, at least they got there in the end, right?

Fingers crossed Mel will have a less stressful time dealing with the contestants on her brand new show, the revamped Generation Game. Yes, it's really happening.

Not only are the BBC bringing back the iconic '90s gameshow, they're bringing back the nation's beloved Mel and Sue, too.

After the Beeb announced that the duo will front four new episodes of the show, a thoroughly excited Mel and Sue said they 'couldn't believe' their new gig.

"It's a cuddly toy, it's a toaster, it's a circular power saw, no it's MEL & SUE DOING THE GENERATION GAME! We can't believe it, we are so excited!" they enthused.

Letterbox airs on BBC Two.
