This year, the show kicks off with a makeover, as the famed 'Walk the Plank' opening trial has been ditched. ITV chiefs intend to shoot some of the introductory scenes at a luxurious ten-bedroom Diamond Head estate valued at £21 million.

Last year's Jungle King, former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, will be back to co-present an ITV2 spin-off programme. New contestant and Strictly star, Oti Mabuse tells the Mirror, she's thrilled but confesses she's petrified of snakes, while Corrie's Alan Halsall claims he has no fears but is concerned about getting sufficient sleep.

Loose Women's Jane Moore detests cold water and intends to dodge any water trials. NDubz singer Tulisa is nervous about the grub, and radio DJ Melvin Odoom worries his snoring might bother the others. Colleen Rooney is stepping away from her everyday life, expressing her eagerness to make her family proud. Barry McGuigan asserts he's unafraid of rats, while podcaster GK Barry anticipates a break from social media.

McFly's Danny is gearing up to become the camp's chef, and Radio One DJ Danny McCulloch is keen on forming meaningful bonds with his fellow participants. A group of twelve celebrities are preparing to spend up to three weeks in the camp starting this Sunday night on ITV. In keeping with tradition, two more stars will join the camp as latecomers on the long-running show.
