This year, the show will kick off with a revamp, as the iconic 'Walk the Plank' opening trial has been ditched. ITV bosses plan to film some of the opening scenes at a lavish ten-bedroom Diamond Head estate worth £21 million.

Last year's King of the Jungle, former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, will return to co-host an ITV2 spin-off show. New contestant and Strictly star, Oti Mabuse tells the Mirror, she is excited but admits she's terrified of snakes, while Corrie's Alan Halsall says he has no phobias but worries about getting enough sleep.

Loose Women's Jane Moore despises cold water and plans to avoid any water trials. NDubz singer Tulisa is anxious about the food, and radio DJ Melvin Odoom fears his snoring might disturb the others.

Colleen Rooney is taking a break from her usual routine and hopes to make her family proud. Barry McGuigan insists he's not afraid of rats, while podcaster GK Barry is looking forward to a break from social media.

McFly's Danny has plans to become the camp's chef, and Radio One DJ Danny McCulloch is keen to form strong bonds with his fellow contestants.

A total of twelve celebrities are preparing to spend up to three weeks in the camp starting this Sunday night on ITV. In keeping with tradition, two more stars will join the camp as latecomers on the long-running show.
