Disney’s Frozen is back again to delight children and exhaust parents, as stars and their families celebrated the premiere of Frozen 2 in Los Angeles last night. Many celebrities including Evan Rachel Wood, Idina Menzel (or Adele Dazeem depending on who you’re asking), Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Sterling K. Brown and Josh Gad were in attendance. However, no red carpet moment was more talked about however than Selena Gomez’s appearance with her sister.
Gomez brought her 6 year old sibling Gracie Teefey and the pair came in matching outfits, which featured a regal grey sequined cape with a feathered collar.
They also wore porcelain blue and white prairie dresses with bell sleeves and Gomez proved herself an Anna fan, as she braided her hair into plaits.
The pair shared a sisterly moment on the carpet as Teefey planted a quick kiss on her sister, before they headed inside to watch the film.
Evan Rachel Wood attended wearing an actual princess gown to the premiere, choosing a sparkling Oscar De La Renta strapless dress and pointed satin heels. The actress and activist plays Queen Iduna in the upcoming sequel.
The stars of the film, Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, were also some of the best dressed on the carpet. Bell wore a brown Dior dress which featured a dramatic keyhole cut out, which gave way to a pleated skirt. The Good Place star accessorised with dark nail polish and a stack of bangles.
Menzel was a modern ice queen on the carpet, wearing a snow white sequin column dress and sparkling box clutch. She arrived hand in hand with her partner Aaron Lohr, though her co-star Josh Gad did admit in an interview with People on the red carpet that he had “the biggest crush” on Menzel after seeing her in Rent as a student.
Gad also later bent down on one knee to “propose” to Menzel at the premiere, as his wife Ida Darvish looked on.
Menzel and Bell proved that their sisterly bond went beyond the animated film, as they were seen holding hands throughout the night and grinning at one another.
RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Nina West committed to the theme, as she attended in a fierce take on Elsa’s iconic princess dress with pointed shoulders and a platinum braided wig. Not even the cast could resist taking photos with her and many were pictured with her throughout the night.
Black Panther’s Sterling K. Brown also attended, wearing an icy blue suit with a patterned button up underneath. The star, who also features in the film, attended with his wife and two sons. Brown shared a photo gallery of his sons meeting people dressed up as Elsa, Anna and Olaf from the fictional film and said they had “a blast”.
Jonathan Groff, who plays Anna’s love interest and royal ice supplier Kristoff in the film, also posed with a statue of his counterpart and reindeer Sven. He wore a red suit with a contrasting yellow shirt and black tie.
Singer Ashlee Simpson made a rare red carpet appearance with her family in tow, bringing her husband Evan Ross and children to the Disney premiere. Wearing a Frozen-approved burgundy cape, her daughter gave her a big kiss on the cheek as Simpson smiled for the cameras.
Other stars to attend included Community’s Yvette Nicole Brown, Jason Ritter, Jeremy Sisto, Rachel Matthews and former talk show host Busy Phillips.
Frozen 2 will be released in theatres on November 22 in the UK.
