Serena Williams is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian

At last, some happy news from the tail end of 2016.

Tennis champ, Serena Williams, has announced that she is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

Woohoo, we’ll go put some champers on ice!

In a fitting tribute to her beau, Serena revealed the exciting news over on her Reddit account, posting a poem that read: “I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited.

“Destination: Rome. To escort me to my very own ‘charming.’ Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle.

“At the same table we first met by chance. But by choice. Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes.”

The pair have kept their relationship incredibly private after meeting eachother just over a year ago, with it thought that they first crossed paths at a luncheon.

The 35-year-old star has previously dated the likes of Drake and Grigor Dimitrov, and recently admitted that she wants children but still feels ‘too young’ to become a mum.

She explained: “I definitely want to have kids one day. That’s something I’ve always wanted since as long as I could remember.

“And the older I get, the more I’m like, ‘I’m too young!'”
