Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will be assessed on Sunday after sustaining another injury blow during the 1-1 Premier League draw against West Ham.

The Argentine – a largely peripheral figure throughout the first half at London Stadium – was replaced by Phil Foden at the interval on Saturday, with the latter going on to cancel out Michail Antonio's brilliant opening goal just minutes after his introduction.

City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed afterwards that Aguero had sustained a hamstring problem, with the club to scan the forward on Sunday.

"A muscle [injury] yeah, hamstring I think," Guardiola said of Aguero, who missed the start of the season after knee surgery but has started the last three matches.

"Tomorrow we'll know exactly."

Kyle Walker was also replaced in the second half and Guardiola said the right-back was "exhausted", having played 90 minutes against both Arsenal last weekend and Porto in midweek.

The fixtures continue to come thick and fast for City, who will rest on Sunday before travelling to France for Tuesday's Champions League clash at Marseille, with Aguero surely a doubt for the trip.

"Tomorrow we have regeneration, then we're going to travel to France," Guardiola said. "We're going to see how the people feel.

"We struggled for many injured [players] and lack of preparation, no recovery time between the games, incredibly tough games we play."

"The players give everything, they fight, now we're just thinking of recovering and the next game in the Champions League."
