'Serious' crash on A45 near Cambridgeshire shuts road as emergency services rush to scene

A 'serious' crash near Cambridgeshire has caused a road to be closed for emergency services to respond on Saturday (June 22). The A45 is closed westbound near Rushden after the crash.

The incident was first reported shortly after 9.15am. Motorists have been told to allow extra time for journeys.

A National Highways spokesperson said: "The A45 in Northamptonshire is closed westbound between the A6 and A5001 near Rushden following a serious collision." Northamptonshire Police are leading the response.

The National Highways spokesperson added: "Please allow extra time for your journey."
