Serious crash between pedestrian and mobility scooter on main Nuneaton road
An elderly pedestrian has been left with potentially serious injuries following a crash in Nuneaton. It happened on Coton Road at just before 10.30am this morning (September 23).
As a result, part of the busy road was blocked for several hours. West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has confirmed to CoventryLive it received 999 calls at 10.22am.
They reported a collision between a pedestrian and a mobility scooter. Medics found the pedestrian, who has not been identified but police have confirmed is aged in his 80s, in a potentially serious condition.

"We were called to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a mobility scooter on Coton Road, Nuneaton at 10.22am today (Monday)," a WMAS spokesperson said. "An ambulance attended the scene and arrived to find a man, the pedestrian, who had sustained potentially serious injuries.
"The man was treated on scene and conveyed to Good Hope Hospital for further checks." Police were also called to the scene.
Warwickshire Police confirmed officers responded to a report of a mobility scooter colliding with a man, aged in his 80s on the pavement on Coton Road. Investigations are ongoing.
