Serious incident in Renfrewshire pub toilet leaves injured man in hospital for a week
A man has spent a week in hospital after sustaining a serious injury in an incident in a Kilbarchan pub toilet.
Police said the 56-year-old man became involved in an altercation with another man in the bathroom of Habbies bar on New Street around 12.30am on Sunday, October 6. The man fell to the bathroom floor and sustained a serious injury to his leg.
Detectives described the space as a "small toilet area" with "limited access". Paramedics rushed the man to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

He was discharged a week after the incident. Detectives have been making enquiries at the bar but are still appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Detective Constable Barry Gourlay, Renfrewshire CID, Police Scotland, said: “The injured man reported the incident when he left the hospital a week after it happened. Since then, we have been making enquiries at the bar, in the area and checking CCTV, however, are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or who has any information that will assist our investigation.

"We appreciate that what happened was in a small toilet area, so there was limited access, but we would still like to hear from anyone with information.”
In a statement posted to social media, a spokesperson for Police Scotland Renfrewshire & Inverclyde said: "Details can be passed to police via 101. Please quote incident number 0865 of Sunday, 13 October 2024 when calling. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
