Serviceman Surprises Younger Brother at Senior Night Football Game

An Air Force staff sergeant surprised his younger brother by appearing in person at halftime during his high school football game in Memphis, Tennessee, on October 18.

In the last four years, the serviceman hadn’t been able to catch one of his brother’s games.

Player Jordan Johnson’s name was announced at halftime during his senior night football game at First Assembly Christian School, along with his favorite memory of playing football and his plans after graduation, which include joining the Air Force.

It was then that his brother, Staff Sergeant James Johnson Jr., walked out onto the field.

After a four-year series of overseas deployments, Sgt Johnson had returned to the States and was newly stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico.

Mitch Davis, a college student and sports podcaster, recorded the video. Davis told Storyful Jordan had no idea this was planned.

“Jordan was completely caught off-guard and shocked to see his brother,” Davis said. “Truly a remarkable moment that will forever go down in FACS folklore.”
