Seven-hour overnight road closure for busy Cambridge road while Network rail carries out work

A busy Cambridge road is set for a seven-hour road closure - while Network Rail carries out work in the area. Coldhams Lane will be shut at the railway bridge on the evening of Monday, September 23.

The road is scheduled to be closed from 10pm. It is then planned to reopen at 5am on Tuesday, September 24.

A traffic diversion route, which is estimated to take around 10 minutes if it was completed in full, will be in place. This is listed as being via Brooks Road, Perne Road, Cherry Hinton Road and High Street.

A Cambridge County Council spokesperson said: "Coldhams Lane, Cambridge will be closed both ways to all traffic from 10pm on the 23rd Sept – 5am on the 24th Sept due to works by Network Rail."
