Severn Trent has apologised over the closure of a Nuneaton shopping centre left with no water. The Abbeygate Shopping Centre was hit by a burst water main on Saturday (November 23).

It has left the centre, and its retailers inside, without any water. As a result, it was forced to close yesterday and remains closed today (November 25). Severn Trent has told CoventryLive that it has a team on site working to restore the supply.

The water firm has also apologised for the inconvenience caused. It says that it hopes to have the supply restored 'as soon as possible'.

In a statement, Amy Jones, senior distribution technician from Severn Trent said: "We have a team on site at the moment assessing the best way to restore supply.

"We’d like to apologise for the inconvenience that this is causing and our team are working hard to get everything back to normal and the supply restored to the shopping centre as soon as possible."
