Several Inches of Rainfall Floods Eastern Tennessee

Up to six inches of rain fell overnight in parts of eastern Tennessee, leaving roads flooded and impassable on Thursday morning, July 21, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

The service warned residents in Knox and Anderson counties not to drive on flooded roads. Knoxville Police said authorities rescued four residents trapped in their apartment by the flooding.
