Several People Injured After Reports of Explosion at Louisville Plant

Evacuation orders were in place in parts of Louisville, Kentucky, after reports of an industrial explosion on Tuesday, November 12.

According to local news reports at least 11 people were injured in the explosion, which occurred at the address of a company that makes “natural food colorings.”

Footage filmed by Andrew Yeager-Buckley shows smoke wafting from a damaged structure in the Clifton neighborhood of Louisville.

“I was in my house working this afternoon when I felt the house shake violently,” Yeager-Buckley told Storyful.

“I jumped in the car, and about 300 yards up the hill from my house I could see smoke over the homes off Frankfort Avenue.”

According to Louisville Metro Emergency Services, a shelter in place had been lifted on Tuesday afternoon, but evacuation orders from “two surrounding blocks” remained in place.
