The Apple TV+ show, which follows workers at the mysterious Lumon Industries whose work and outer life memories have been separated, last aired back in 2022.
After season one finished on a huge cliffhanger, fans have been keen for the follow-up – but has it been worth the wait?

Going by critics' reviews it seems it has, with the second season landing a 98% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Reviewers have praised the season's "timely" nature that hits "chillingly close to home" – though some critics did suggest a few flaws.
Here's what they've been saying:
Entertainment Weekly
"The lauded Apple TV+ drama from creator Dan Erickson returns with a briskly paced sophomore season that refines its many themes into a timely, rewarding, and challenging debate about the power and parameters of personhood."
Variety
"Whatever the destination Severance is aiming for, the journey dramatizes the arbitrary rules and compartmentalized nature of modern work better than anything else on air."
Radio Times
"Severance may have taken a while to boot up, but it knows what it’s doing. With perfect synergy, this series is a delight to circle back to and worth being kept in the loop with."
IndieWire
"Even as Severance adds more to its plate in Season 2, the series never feels overstuffed, bogged down, or in too deep."
The Daily Telegraph
"This is remarkable, unique, mind-bending television, a show which makes you think long and hard, even when it’s in danger of disappearing down the rabbit-hole of its own inventive imagination."
The Hollywood Reporter
"It makes for a season that’s frequently darker, less frequently amusing and not necessarily more satisfying — but one that hits, if anything, even more chillingly close to home."
Severance season 2 will premiere on January 17 on Apple TV+.
