Severe Winds Lash Calapan City as Typhoon Kammuri Moves West Over Philippines

Typhoon Kammuri moved west over the Philippines on Tuesday, December 3, bringing high winds and rain to Oriental Mindoro province, some 200 km south of the Metro Manila region.

The storm continued to move westward away from land and into the West Philippines Sea, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

ABS-CBN reported that the typhoon, known locally as Tisoy, was the strongest to hit the country this year, and that at least two people had died. The storm also forced the closure of Manila’s airport, it reported. Credit: Kieven P. Capricho via Storyful
