Severn Trent says sorry over Stoke-on-Trent's water problems
Families have been offered 'sincere apologies' from Severn Trent over water problems that have blighted North Staffordshire. Thousands of homes across the city, the Staffordshire Moorlands, and Newcastle have experienced issues around supply, pressure or water being discoloured.
Now Severn Trent is working to identify a 'long-term fix' over the issues. StokeonTrentLive has previously reported how some residents have been hit with intermittent problems since August with last month seeing thousands of households hit with issues.
This year and some customers have had a Guaranteed Standards Scheme payment (£30) being credited to their accounts in relation to problems between August and September.

Even today there are supply and pressure issues around Stanley, Baddeley Edge, Abbey Hulton, Birches Head, Hanley, Wolstanton, Hartshill, Poolfields, Trentham, Meir Park, Meir, Dresden, Weston Coyney, Longton, Stone, and Leek. The majority are affecting just one street rather than the wider area.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "We would like to offer our sincere apologies to customers in Staffordshire who have experienced intermittent low water pressure or discolouration of their tap water. These issues are being caused by a set of pumps which are seeing brief mechanical outages and our teams are working hard to find a long-term fix and prevent any future disruption to customer supplies. We absolutely understand just how inconvenient and disruptive any supply interruption can be and would like to thank everyone for their patience while we resolve this issue.”
