Sex Education star shares update amid “excruciating” health battle
Sex Education star Anthony Lexa has shared an update on her battle with an "excruciating" health condition.
The actor, who played Abbi Montgomery in the Netflix comedy-drama, shared an Instagram Story showing her face covered in eczema. In the caption, she admitted that she is finding things incredibly difficult at the moment.
"I don't remember what it feels like to be human," she wrote. "I feel like I've been away from life and everything for months, and I haven't even been back in Devon two weeks. Give me strength pls. How can time be so slow and excruciating."

In a post on her Instagram page at the end of last month, Lexa explained that her eczema was due to topical steroid withdrawal (TSW).
The National Eczema Society describes TSW as "severe reactions that can occur when moderate- or high-potency topical steroids are stopped after prolonged use, usually more than a year and usually to treat eczema, [with] symptoms worse than their original condition."
The condition can also cause extreme tiredness and weakness, something that Lexa talked about in her post.
"I can barely make dinner and clean my surroundings," she wrote, explaining that it has affected her ability to make online content and network to promote her music. She added that she has been functioning on about three hours of sleep per day due to the pain.

During her time on Sex Education, Lexa was featured in the show's first trans sex scene, opposite Felix Mufti's character Roman.
The show's intimacy coordinator David Thackeray spoke exclusively to Digital Spy about the scene, and he explained that he handed it over to his colleague Tigger Blaize to have a more authentic approach.
He said: "I think what's amazing, and what Sex Education does so well is that the writers have specialists come in, and they work out what to put on the page, basically, to make sure that it's coming from real sources and not just imagination."
All four seasons of Sex Education are now available to stream on Netflix.
