Although Shadowhunters was cancelled earlier this month, at least it sounds like fans will be getting a killer series finale.
Shadowhunters will end with the second half of its third season – which returns in 2019, with 12 episodes left to air. On top of those, Freeform has announced a two-episode special finale.
Now, executive producer Todd Slavkin has reassured fans, writing on Twitter: "It's not rushed. Not at all. It's beautiful. Thanks to the brilliant @ShadowhuntersWR if has to end like this, you all will be deeply satisfied."

That said, we at Digital Spy have previously explained why Shadowhunters' two-part series finale isn't enough to give fans the ending they deserve – which you can read right here.
Following the show's cancellation, Karey Burke, EVP of Programming and Development at Freeform, revealed that network execs were "very happy creatively" with Shadowhunters but that it was axed for economic reasons.
"We went back and forth with them but ultimately we just couldn't make the economics work," she said. "We were very happy creatively with it.
"They delivered what the fans wanted. I remember being at Comic-Con and seeing the excitement for the show and thinking, 'This could be our Supernatural.'"
Shadowhunters will return to Freeform in the US in 2019 with 12 episodes left to air and a two-episode special finale. Netflix airs the show in the UK.
