What We Do in the Shadows TV show sets all-star cast
Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi are sinking their teeth into What We Do in the Shadows once again for a long-awaited TV spin-off.
The comedy team have been working for over a year on adapting their cult hit vampire movie for the small screen, and now it's been picked up for a pilot by US cable channel FX.
Deadline reports that Jemaine Clement is on board to co-write and produce this TV version, with Taika Waititi also agreeing to direct a cast filled with international comedy favourites.
The What We Do in the Shadows show is centred around a trio of vampires living together in the same low-rent flat, where they're struggling more with paying the rent than mastering the dark arts.
Facejacker's Kayvan Novak will play their leader Nandor, with Toast of London's Matt Berry as the goofy screw-up Lazslo and stand-up comic Natasia Demetriou as their badass female cohort Nadja.
The ensemble cast of What We Do in the Shadows also features Eye Candy's Harvey Guillen as Nandor's faithful assistant, according to the publication.
Taika Waititi has also recently confirmed work on What We Do in the Shadows's film sequel We're Wolves, although it's not expected to actually go before the cameras for a few years.
It's a year of reunions for Jemaine Clement, who'll be reuniting with his other comedy partner Bret McKenzie for a new Flight of the Conchords TV special, to be filmed live at their UK tour.
