Shakira ‘constructing a wall’ between her and former mother-in-law

Shakira is making a significant effort to separate herself from her mother-in-law following her separation from ex Gerard Piqué, according to reports.

The Columbian singer, 45, has reportedly started constructing a wall between her and Piqué’s parents’ homes, which are partially connected to each other.

Spanish news outlet Marca made this claim after a TV camera apparently spotted a cement mixer at Shakira’s property in Barcelona, Spain.

This report comes after a creepy life-sized witch doll was snapped on Shakira’s balcony, facing Montserrat Bernabéu’s home, her former mother-in-law, in a disturbing gesture, after it has been reported the two have fallen out. The singer has also been playing her music extremely loudly, so her in-laws can hear it.

Shakira and Piqué, 35, announced their split last summer. The pair share two children, Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven.

The exes have since been embroiled in a public spat as it’s been rumoured that Piqué cheated on Shakira with his 23-year-old girlfriend, Clara Chia. Shakira has alluded to this being true in her new music.

The artist threw shots at her footballer ex in her viral diss track Bzrp Music Sessions 53, as she referred to her failed relationship and the circumstances in which Piqué met his new squeeze.

Reports followed this week that Shakira discovered Piqué was cheating on her after “finding jam in the fridge”, which he does not eat.

Shakira also mentioned her former mother-in-law, saying: “You left my mother-in-law as my neighbour, with the press at the door and the debt in the Treasury...”

It is thought that Shakira is not on good terms with Piqué’s mother, following their split and speculation that he cheated on her.

Fans dubbed Shakira as a “petty queen” as they reacted to the scary witch doll seen at her home days ago.

One person wrote: “Shakira apparently has a witch figure on the balcony facing her MIL’s home? Go on girl.”
