Shannen Doherty Confesses to Jason Priestley That She Stole Clothes From Her “BH90210” Wardrobe
The former costars talked about their time shooting the 2019 'Beverly Hills, 90210' reboot on Doherty's podcast
When Shannen Doherty wrapped up filming BH90210, she wanted something to remember the experience by.
Her memento of choice: her iconic character Brenda Walsh's clothing.
“I thought like, it’s fair that I’m taking some of my wardrobe because I also wore some of my personal clothes. So, I just figured you know, that’s a healthy exchange. I’m not like a klepto or anything,” said the actress, 52, on an episode of her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, featuring her former costar Jason Priestley, 54, who played her twin brother, Brandon Walsh, on the reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210.
Her wardrobe exchange backfired when she stuffed all the clothes she wanted to take home into a box, but didn't tape it shut before giving it to production to ship it to her. Production confiscated the box, which included a pair of YSL suede knee-high boots she “desperately" wanted.
“I was like, just give me the clothes. It’s just gonna sit in a warehouse somewhere. It’s so silly!” she said. "I'm not the only one who did that."
Doherty also revealed that she’s previously taken costumes from other shows she’s starred in, including Charmed and the original Beverly Hills, 90210.
Priestley got a kick out of Doherty's confession. "Oh my god, it's fantastic," he laughed.
Doherty said that she wanted "every single item" of Brenda Walsh's wardrobe on BH90210, which was a testament to the show's costume designer Mandi Lee.
