These sharks could live in British waters by 2050

Warming seas are likely to bring ten species of sharks to British waters within the next 30 years, scientists have said.

There are already around 40 species of shark living off the UK coast, but climate change is likely to bring new kinds from areas like the Mediterranean and African coast.

Sharks have a problem reputation - four in ten people admitted to an irrational fear of them in a recent National Geographic survey - but most are not dangerous to humans.
