Sharon Horgan has a "recurring nightmare" about killing someone.

The 52-year-old actress has written new show 'Bad Sisters' ' in which she stars alongside Eve Hewson as a pair of sisters who are caught up in a plot to murder their brother-in-law - and joked that her Google search history since penning the series would get her into "a lot of trouble."

Asked if writing the series got her thinking about committing the perfect murder, she said: "Oh, it absolutely did! I mean, my Google search history would get me into a lot of trouble! You know that recurring nightmare where you've killed someone? Well, I dream about it quite a lot! I think you get it when you're stressed and the big thing after is - how do you get away with it? So, writing 'Bad Sisters' was a sort of fulfilment, because now I know! But you'll have to watch to find out how!"

The former 'Pulling' star went on to describe the series as a "howdunnit" as opposed to a "whodunnit" and teased that the performance of ex-'Shameless' actress Anne Marie Duff as a victim of domestic abuse will "blow everyone away."

She told Metro newspaper's SixtySeconds column: "It's such a ride! Watching a bunch of Irish women trying and failing at killing a villain over and over again is really fun. This isn't a whodunnit, it's a howdunnit. It's so driven by what happens to the p****of a brother-in-law. And, at the heart of it, it's an examination of an abusive relationship. I felt respectful of that. You have this dark, moving side with Anne-Marie Duff, whose performance is going to blow everyone away. She always blows everyone away but this is a really beautiful piece of work."

'Bad Sisters' is streaming now on Apple +.
