Sharon Osbourne lands £1 million X Factor deal to do 'less work for same pay'
The X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has reportedly been offered a new £1 million deal which will see her do less work.
In a step forward regarding the gender pay gap issue, Sharon, 65, looks set to do half the work she’s done on previous series of he show by appearing in just the live finals but for the exact same fee.
A rep told Metro that the opinionated star is ‘very pleased’ by the negotiations and will be undertaking a role that’s ‘less work, same money’.
Apparently, Sharon was left exhausted last year when she was forced to fly back and forth between London and Los Angeles where she’s a talk show panellist.
It’s not 100% confirmed which names will make up the upcoming series judging panel, with talk of regular Nicole Scherzinger, 39, reportedly booted from the show in an attempt to freshen it up.
In more certain news, it seems both Sharon and Louis Walsh, 65, will both be back for another season, at least. he pair were supposedly set to be axed from the reality TV show but were kept around because their contract termination payout fees that ITV would be forced to cough up would far exceed keeping them on.
With Nicole’s replacement seemingly still in the balance, a number of familiar names are being bandied about, including Cheryl, Kylie Minogue, Alesha Dixon, and even pop diva Mariah Carey. There’s also murmurs of Louis Tomlinson being involved, which will no doubt excite the One Direction fanbase.
The X Factor returns to ITV1 later this year.
