Sharon Osbourne to spend Christmas apart from Ozzy for first time in 40 years amid health issues

Sharon Osbourne has revealed she and husband Ozzy won't be together this Christmas for the first time in 40 years.

The Black Sabbath singer was due to join his wife in the UK for the festive period but health issues mean he'll be remaining in the US with their children Jack and Aimee while Sharon, who has been appearing in Nativity! The Musical in London, is joined by daughter Kelly. The couple have been married 37 years.

“He’s going to stay home with Jack and Amy and the grandkids and I’m here with Kelly," Sharon, 67, divulged on Loose Women.

“It’s the first time – this will be our 40th Christmas – that we’re not together. It’s going to be different. Kelly and I are going out for our Christmas lunch.”

Earlier in the year, 71-year-old Ozzy suffered nasty injuries when he fell in their bedroom on a night that Sharon has said she "keeps reliving".

A visit to hospital showed that his spinal cord was compressed and one of the metal bolts in his collarbone from a previous quad-bike accident was dislodged.

He then underwent several operations on his spine, and was told it would take him a year to recover.

Sharon told the Loose Women panellists that doctors had advised Ozzy not to fly and that her husband was "quite nervous" about making the long trip.

Ozzy was forced to postpone some European tour dates back in October, telling fans he “wasn’t dying" but recovering.

The announcement came after the events were initially postponed earlier in 2019.
