Shayne Ward's stint on Strictly Come Dancing could come to an end a lot sooner than expected, with bookies now certain he is on borrowed time, having ended up in the dance-off for a second time at the weekend.

Former X Factor champion Shayne, who has also been a contestant on hit ITV show Dancing on Ice, was regarded as one of the frontunners for Strictly victory this year when he was confirmed to appear on the new series of the much loved BBC programme. However, after being hurt by accusations he was 'insufferable' and 'arrogant,' Shayne was condemned to the bottom two a few weeks ago.

After just a week's reprieve, the singer and his pro partner Nancy Xu, had to fight to stay in the competition again at the end of Halloween week, with them falling into danger, having been one of four couples tied on the leaderboard on a score of 31 out of 40. Bookies favourite Chris McCausland finished joint bottom of the standings this week, five points behind Shayne, but clearly has a lot of public support, as he managed to climb to safety, as Shayne had to battle against Punam Krishan in the dance-off.

And, while he was saved in a unanimous decision on Sunday's Strictly results show, as all four judges voted to keep him and Nancy in, in the latest odds shake-up, following Sunday's results show, Shayne has been made the overwhelming favourite to go this coming weekend.

At the time of writing on Monday morning, Shayne was on odds of 13/8 to go with betting experts OLBG, significantly ahead of Sam Quek, who is on 3/1, having got the same score as him on Saturday night.

Predicting the end is night for ex Coronation Street star Shayne, OLBG's entertainment betting expert Jake Ashton said he'll need a "massive performance" to escape the bottom two at the end of Strictly first ever Icons Week.
