'She was living life to the full' - Mum's double tragedy following shock death of 'happy and healthy' daughter
A heart-broken mum has spoken of the shock at her daughter's death after initially being told she could take her home from hospital.
Summer Van Bogerijen was born with severe learning disabilities and cerebral palsy but despite her difficulties she had a happy childhood and "loved life".
But in June of this year, as 17-year-old Summer and her mum Stacey were preparing to submit college applications, Summer developed what was suspected to be a chest infection and ended up being admitted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital on June 5.

For the first three days of her admission in hospital there were "no major concerns" about Summer and when Stacey left her on the evening of June 11 she was told that she could go home the next day. However, when Stacey returned the next day, she found her daughter in a "terrible state".
Summer's condition continued to deteriorate and she died later that day on June 12. A pre-inquest review, held this week at Blackpool Town Hall, heard that statements will be requested from various medics involved in Summer's care and a final inquest will take place later this year.
Summer's death was the second tragedy to hit the family. Four years ago Stacey's older daughter, mum-of-two Brooke O'Connor, took her own life after struggling with her mental health since she was a child.
Stacey told LancsLive following the hearing: "She was severely disabled and required 24-hour care but she was very well and never spent time in hospital other than when she was very little.
"She was living a happy and healthy life. We were looking at colleges. She was at school the day she went to the doctor's. She just went in with a chest infection.
"I left her on the Tuesday night and they said 'you can take her home tomorrow' but when I went in to collect her she was in such a terrible state. She was living life to the full. It was such a huge shock."
After Summer's death Stacey thanked "the whole of Fleetwood" who had supported the family. Summer was laid to rest, alongside her big sister Brooke, at Fleetwood Cemetery.
